Bad Movies

Here's a pretty cool list of the 100 worst movies of all time. I'm too tired to add any commentary right now, but I'll try and do that tomorrow. I will say, however, that while I'm pleased to see Battlefield Earth made in on the list, I'm more than slightly disappointed that they felt the need to include the classic and awe inspiring Gymkata. Dude, he was a martial arts expert. And a gymnast!

Those people don't know what they are talking about!!

Armageddon (1998)
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1980)
The Exorcist Sequels (1977, 1990)
The "Friday The 13th" Series (1980-1989)
Godzilla (1998)
Grease 2 (1982)
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
Independence Day (1996)
The "Police Academy" Series (1984- 1994)
Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)
Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Superman IV (1987)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and its sequels (1974-1997)
Titanic (1997)
Weekend at Bernie's 1989
Who's That Girl (1987)

COME ON!! While I didn't "love" these they shouldn't make it on the worst movie list ever!!

Are you kidding me? Armageddon and Titanic alone should have 5 or 6 entries each. And Grease 2? Come on, that one should have its own category for bad.

Movies that shouldn't be on the list:

Armageddon: There are moments in that movie that straight up give me the chills... especially the end where the Pres is talking about living on... This is a movie where a guy is "allowed" to get the sniffles... Just because it is a Michael Bay movie...

Best of the Best: This movie was cheesy sure... but a fun movie to watch. Fun does not have to equal bad movie. Haters...

Harlem Nights: Are you kidding!! This movie is staright up hilarious!! The part where Della Reese gets shot in the pinkie toe ?? That alone makes it great. Something racial going on here...

ID4: Another great fun movie.

NBK (Natural Born Killers): Great movie. Robert Downey Jr's performance was great. The music & editing was crazy funny... Just cause a movie doesn't make you feel good doesn't make it sucky.

Red "Freaking" Dawn: I will not dignify this insult with a rebuttle.

Titanic: I liked this movie. Great effects, good acting... Once again because it stars a pretty boy, it is a "bad" movie.

Mr. Twisted... What is wrong with Armageddon ??

Jason - Armageddon, dude what can I say, that was pure cheese. Pretty much anything with Ben Affleck that doesn't have Kevin Smith directing is going to suck pretty bad.
Harlem Nights - agreed, I liked that movie. And you're right, the scene with Della Reese is worth watching it for. Those were the days when Eddie Murphy was still funny.
Titanic - I have such a hard time with that movie, just simply based on the fact that it was 30 minutes of romance, and TWO HOURS OF A BOAT SINKING. Add on to that the fact that you already knew what was going to happen before you even go into the theater. IT'S ABOUT A BOAT! THAT SINKS! YAY!!
Red Dawn - I must have had a mental block when I read that list, as I didn't even see that one. The idea that they would insult that movie instantly discredits the validity of the list.

Mostly right about Affleck. Ben Affleck's good movies without Kevin Smith's presence:

"Dazed and Confused"
"Shakespeare in Love"
"Good Will Hunting"
"Boiler Room"

Mr. Twisted said...

Oooh, completely forgot about Dazed and Confused. Good call.

Good Will Hunting is another, but for some reason, that movie has been losing a lot of its luster for me. I used to really like it. Now, not so much.

The others... I think you're abusing your Lortab.

Mostly agree with that list ... Especially "Blair Witch," the last I had truly high expectations and just left the theater swearing like a madman

Mr. Twisted said...

Reel Fanatic - You and me both. I don't think I've ever been as truly angry at a film as I was with Blair Witch. That's one of those that makes you feel as if part of your life was murdered, and you can never get it back.

Jason did a good job so I will leave most of your comments alone... but GREASE 2?? Maxwell Caulfield was DREAMY in that and this more than makes up for any other concerns.....

Mr. Twisted said...

And this Maxwell Caulfield went on to...???

I have him locked up in my closet. That is why he didn't do anything after Grease 2...

I take him out for special occasions.
